Join David Greenhalgh, Curator, International Art, in conversation with Museum Berggruen curators Dr Gabriel Montua and Natalie Zimmer to celebrate the opening of Cézanne to Giacometti: Highlights from Museum Berggruen / Neue Nationalgalerie.
Presented in partnership with Berlin’s Museum Berggruen/Neue Nationalgalerie, the exhibition marks the first time works from this internationally significant collection will be seen in Australia.
One of the most substantial hubs of modern art in Germany, the Berggruen collection originates from the prominent gallerist and passionate collector Heinz Berggruen (1914–2007). Born and raised in Berlin, Berggruen spent more than half a century living in Paris, building a truly unique collection.
This conversation will investigate the artistic lives and innovations of Paul Klee, Pablo Picasso, Georges Braque, Henri Matisse, Alberto Giacometti and Paul Cézanne through the important holdings of their works in the Museum Berggruen collection.
Please note that seats are limited and allocated on a ‘first come, first serve’ basis. Once seating is exhausted, standing room is available.
Seating for wheelchair users and one member of their party can be reserved.
Cézanne to Giacometti: Highlights from Museum Berggruen / Neue Nationalgalerie is on display in Gallery 12 from 31 May – 21 Sep 2025.
